Although it has been some time since Genua had anything approaching a standing army capable of
waging war against the great city-states of the Sto Plains, there still exist a number of small
regiments that serve as the first, and last, line of civic defence against the threats of the sea
and of the swamp. Even in their somewhat reduced state, the soldiers of the Genuan regiments are
skilled warriors and usually capable of dealing with whatever may come their way.
