| This is the covered street market which runs down a large portion of High Tide Road. The street is nothing more than a sea of black hair as the residents of Shoo-Li, Hong Fa and Sum Bing battle over prices and slightly imperfect merchandise. Makeshift stalls have been crowded along every spare edge of the wide street, making striking deals between merchant and customer all the more entertaining because just as a vendor gets ready to close a deal, another is closing in on his customer. Loose chickens scutter through the crowd, clucking loudly as they lose the occasional tail feather to a careless boot. The covered market continues to the east and west. |  |
