Ameera's Amphorae

| A cool refuge from the dusty heat of the streets, Ameera's Amphorae is a quiet shop, narrow but piled with leaning stacks of the famous Ephebian containers. At the front of the shop, an awning provides shade and covers the open front wall. The awning can be rolled down at night, providing a wall to the street. The shop itself is effectively a roofed over alleyway, with Ameera's work area in the back. Finished wares are set to attract customers, each a piece of art, and a functional container for liquid. A counter sits halfway back in the store, a place for the final paying of price after bartering is done. Behind the counter are mountains of drying greenware, and once fired bisque. The walls are decorated in a tasteful mosaic of tiny ceramic tiles - likely serving as paint samples. A slightly damp smell of fresh clean clay suffuses the room, mixed with occasion acrid wafts of glazing chemicals and the sharp smell of dung pellets used to fuel the kiln. |  |
