Kothornoi
These elevated sandals somewhat resemble a clog, and are unique to the tragic actors of the Ephebianstage. Their raised heel is designed to lift the actor above the crowd, and let them play different
roles using kothornoi of different heights. The shoes also lend actors a swaggering gait, which
many Ephebian women find distinctly... erotic. Despite this advantage, the kothornos itself is
rather ungraceful in appearance, designed to be hidden by long robes.
